Background and Aim: Diagnostic methods, including coronary angiography, are a stressful experience for patients undergoing angiography that can cause anxiety in these patients. Educating and raising patients' awareness is one of these methods. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of mobile-based education on anxiety of patients undergoing coronary angiography. Methods: study was performed in Golestan teaching hospital in Ahwaz in 2018. One type of clinical trial was easy with non-probability sampling. 94 patients who were candidates for coronary angiography were divided into two groups of intervention and control using a 4-block design.In addition to demographic information, the patients in the control group received the training content via mobile software and the patients in the treatment group received routine hospital education Spielberger state-trait anxiety inventory was completed by the researcher in both groups. The data were then analyzed using SPSS software. Results: According to the results of analysis of variance with repeated measures of time interaction effect and independent t-test, the two groups had no significant difference in the level of anxiety before the intervention and were almost the same. After intervention in the control group, the mean score increased in each phase, but in the experimental group the mean score of anxiety decreased in each phase.
Conclusion: The use of mobile-based teaching method was effective in reducing anxiety in patients undergoing coronary angiography.
