Aims. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of total quality management (TQM) in determining the educational needs of criticalwards nurses. Methods. This study performed on 80 randomly selected criticalwards nurses of Hazrat-e-Rasool and Firoozgar hospital in Tehran. Participants devided into two groups A test group that TQM had been administrated to them (Hazrat-e-Rasool hospital) and a control group that had never been taught about TQM (Firoozgar hospital). Total quality management and educational need-assessment questionnaires filled in both groups as a posttest. Results. Determination of educational needs of criticalwards nurses that TQM has applied in their hospital was significantly higher than those without TQM. There is a significant distinction between educational needs of nurses who have been concerned with TQM. There was a meaningful difference between TQM parameters in providing health care. Conclusion. Hospitals with a TQM system have taken training into consideration by focusing on training and promoting staff awareness. |
