title = {Effect of open and closed endotracheal suction systems on heart rhythm and artery blood oxygen level in intensive care patients},
abstract ={Aims: Many patients need special care, and endotracheal tube and the use of mechanical ventilation is essential. This type of airway leads to mucosa stimulation and production of mucus. Suctioning is accomplished with complications such as severe hypoxia and significant cardiovascular disorders selecting the least dangerous way of endotracheal tube suction can reduce severe complications. This study compared the effect of two open and closed methods of suction on the pattern of heart rate and arterial blood oxygen saturation. Methods: In this cross over clinical trial study performed during 1386-87 in critical care units of Artesh hospitals, 60 patients who were connected to the ventilator were selected. Open and closed suction techniques carried on samples and heart rate patterns and arterial blood oxygen saturation was measured in patients before and several times after each type of suction and was compared. For analysis of data the paired T-test and ANOVA and SPSS 17 software was used. Results: There was a significant different on heart rate and oxygen saturation in different times after closed suction system and open suction system (p< 0.0001). These differences in different periods after the open suction method was more visible than closed but there was no change in cardiac rhythm in both open and closed suction methods (p>0.05). Conclusi on: Open and closed suction methods are effective on heart rate and arterial blood oxygen saturation and it is suspected that closed suction method makes less changes in patient hemodynamic status.},

title = {Effect of family-centered empowerment model on the life style of myocardial infarction patients},
abstract ={Aims: Nowadays, noncontiguous diseases have been extended due to the renovation of societies, technology promotion and density of population on urban zones, life and style changes and tendency of population to unsuitable habits. Cardiovascular diseases are from these failures and are the most widespread death cause in the most nations of universe and also Iran and the most important cause of unhealthy. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of family-centered empowerment model on the life style of the myocardial infarction patients. Methods: This clinical trial study accomplished from August to December 2007 on all of myocardial infarction patients hospitalized in Shari’ati Hospital coronary care unit. After sampling by randomized clustering, subjects (70 patients) were randomly assigned to experimental and control group. For experimental group, family-centered empowerment model was implemented with four dimensions of perceived threat (severity and sensitivity), self-efficacy, educational partnership and evaluation and usual care was done for control group members. The research tools were demographic, lifestyle and four empowerment dimensional questionnaires. Results: There were no significant difference between two groups in demographic data (p>0.05). In lifestyle dimension, tests revealed no significant difference between two groups before the intervention (p>0.05) but after the intervention, all modes differences were deeply significant (p< 0.001) except physical healthy (p>0.05). Conclusion: Performing family-centered empowerment model for patients with myocardial infarction is practically feasible and associated with improvement or modification of patients and his or her families’ lifestyle.},

title = {Stem cells roll in heart disease treatment},
abstract ={Introduction: Despite many advances in the treatment of heart disease, particularly myocardial infarction, many patients with heart attacks catch chronic heart failure and are associated with this disease until death. Several therapeutic procedures including drug-therapy, heart transplantation and heart’s inside- and outside equipment are used to improve the quality of life of patients which are very expensive for patients and hospitals. By researches in genetics, tissue engineering and cell therapy, hoping to save these patients has increased. The purpose of this review study was to analyze and clarify the role of stem cells in treating heart failures. Conclusion: Researches and clinical trials show that during 4 to 6 months after transplantation of stem cells to the heart, left ventricular function increases between 7 to 9%, volume of end systolic decreases and blood supply and vessel construction promotes in stroke region . Moreover, in prospective and case-control studies, the efficiency of this method proved and no dangerous arrhythmia or tumor has been observed.},
